![]() ![]() Round 4: URb Pirates vs UBr Pirates (1-0)Īgain the draft for this was a test of Buccaneer's Bravado as putting it on my top 10 commons list was a bolder and harder thing than simply putting a welkin tern on there but I had a gut feeling it was right. This isn't a clear result, but despite the creature package being worse the deck performed incredibly well and showed me just how good bravado is and helped enforce this notion that it wasn't the creatures that made pirates great. I went into this draft kinda forcing on pirates with this notion that I might be better off snapping every bravado I saw and wanted to test that. In the end I lost the die roll and the game I could've won to take the match I didn't have the bravado so I lost. This one is on me, at the time of drafting this deck I was convinced Buccaneer's Bravados would make it around the table and that the Kitesail Corsairs were the harder piece of the puzzle so I ended up with Goblin Trailblazers and Kitesails up the ass with other evasive cards and not enough bravados when I could've had 4. Opponent killed it before I could untap with it despite his dying to my 4/2 flying lifelink (Annointed Deacon + 2/2 guy). I decided to run Golden Guardian not because it was correct, but for testing purposes. This is a dream vampire deck and there is no way in hell I'm losing this this pile. Thank you for all your question/comments!Ĭurrent Matches (Note: Decks are not always optimized for the purposes of testing RIX cards and interactions): I'll be updating with LSV's releases so keep an eye out if you want some more discussion!Īs I mentioned, I am very much up for an open discussion about things as long as we can keep it civil. And yes, we all make mistakes with this sort of thing. LSV started me on limited reviews and I got a lot of knowledge about how to think about limited from him - so do keep in mind that while I disagree with him on some things, I still respect him highly and wouldn't be rated in limited nearly as highly without his videos. We are similar enough on card ratings that it won't be extensive - it needs to be a rating difference of >.5 to warrant discussion. That said, I wanted to try something new, put some faith back in r/magicTCG and share my draft guide with you guys and something new! I will be comparing my different review's with LSV's reviews and talking about the rating difference. So if I seem a bit assuming, that would be why. For those of you who don't know me - I do a lot of posts on the r/spikes subreddit and don't often dip into this subreddit after it took days and a set review from LSV before two comments saying I was insane for giving a 0.0 to Starfield of Nyx and didn't know how to play (one was deleted with my explanation) changed from being a +12 karma comment with all my replies going to -8/-10 despite just wanting to have a simple discussion about it. I'd appreciate it if you simply gave an undeserving downvote and left instead of trying to invade a discussion area for people who want to understand or challenge my reviews rather than berate and belittle me for who I am.ĭecent question to answer though. If you're not one for this sort of thing, if you're just reading to flack on me for disagreeing with LSV, that's OK. ![]() I had to learn how to think about card in a limited environment from pros, but now I feel comfortable enough to share my own opinions with you guys. I consider myself to be someone who is decent at limited.
