That means, if not then will this enhancement allow you to DISPLAY GPS data like other exif data and nothing else? $GPS_LATITUDE, $GPS_LONGITUDE, $GPS_ALTITUDE Or can I write my own template with full access to future GPS variables? There is no chance after implementation to have access on variables like e.g. « Last Edit: Mar 4 th, 2006, 5:06am by Ronald P. If the feature will be added I expect it will be treated like the other EXIF data, to be selected in preferences for those who want to use it. No, I don't think that is a proper solution. Maybe then willyman's suggestion makes more sense, and it could be made available only to people on want to write page templates (I don't know, somehting like the variables $GPS_LATITUDE, $GPS_LONGITUDE, $GPS_ALTITUDE) The more votes, the better the chance that the feature will actually be added. If you are interested in adding this feature, do not forget to vote for it (see link above). The new information from jhead must be made available in Galerie, necessary changes must be made to the script that writes the text, the preferences must be extended, the preference panel interface must be adjusted, this must be done for each of the eight languages that Galerie supports and the labels must be translated into each of these languages. It then interpolates and put the GPS coordinates in the EXIF of your jpg. I have this very cool application, GPSPhotoLinker from that let you annotate you photo with GPS information, as long as you have the correct time in your camera and that you carry the GPS unit and the camera together.
